untapt’s Commitment to Data Privacy and the GDPR

We know how important a confidential and secure job hunting process is. That’s why we’ve taken action to be prepared for the effectiveness of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (or GDPR) as of May 25, 2018.

Our stance on your right to privacy.

As a team with plenty of experience on both sides of the interview process, untapt has always held personal privacy as a #1 priority. We understand that job-hunting is a sensitive process, so we value your confidence in us and promise to continue protecting your information.

What does that mean for you?

Put simply, the regulation is extra assurance for users that untapt will never act irresponsibly with your personal data. We only collect data as needed to help match our candidates with the jobs that they want. We never have and never will sell your information to any third parties.

What do we do with your data?

We take measures designed to keep your PII (or Personally Identifiable Information) completely secure on untapt. The only time it gets shared out is when you consent to sending it to a hiring manager or company. At all other times, data is stored within our private cloud (we use Google Cloud Platform). We do not allow any other parties to collect this data unless the law dictates we do so.

What happens next?

The GDPR is just one step in untapt’s continuous journey to protect our users and make them feel secure. When you share your resume, experience, and other important information with us, the only time we’ll use it is if we’re helping you to find a new job in tech. If for whatever reason you’d like to erase your information from our database, you can do so by deleting your account from untapt. Just go to the account screen and manage your profile from there.
